Welcome to the Winchester Robotics Team Homepage!

A big thank you to everyone who attended our December 6 fundraiser at Boston Centerless in Woburn. With your help, we raised about $4,500 dollars for the team. We really appreciate all your support and donations.

Here you can find information about our team and its robots, see images and movies of previous competitions, and see our sponsors.

The Winchester Robotics Team is made up of high-school students from Winchester High School, in Winchester, Massachusetts. We are part of BotsIQ, an educational spinoff of the Battlebots competition seen on TV on Comedy Central.

Our first year was highly successful. We placed 4th and 12th out of 43 in the High School and College Mini (15 pounds maximum) Division.

In the 2006-2007 season we had four robots in both the High School and College Mini Division and the High School Large (120 pounds maximum) Division. The best performing was The Hook, which reached 7th out of about 50 in the Mini Division, in addition to winning the Robot Rumble.

On December 1, we went to Plymouth, MA with the two surviving robots from last year, The Hook and Silverback. It was a successful trip, with Silverback finishing 8th out of about 20, and The Hook making our first award-winning finish at 2nd, winning 5 matches and losing twice to the winner, Good Knight.

This year we plan one continuing our progress with several bots. We will post information about these as soon as possible in the New Bots section.

Each year, we need more and more fundraising to keep our robots running. If you would like to support this year's efforts, see the sponsors section for details.
